Thirst Empty
PostSubject: Thirst   Thirst EmptyWed Jun 17, 2009 8:46 am

Rustling leaves and wind whispered everywhere. Aethne silently walked directionless, her fur waving in the soft breeze of spring. She detested spring. Everything bloomed, grew and made sounds again. As if there's nothing to worry about. As if there haven’t happened awful things in these large quiet woods.

It had been four years since the forest burned. Only four years. She hissed angrily at a bypassing squirrel, frightening the animal and making it flee in fear. Aethne preferred to walk alone, without spectators. She jumped over a rotten log; the clattering sound of gushing water filled the forest. Frowning, she chewed on her tongue. God, was she thirsty. Aeth started running as fast as she could, too long had she been walking aimlessly around. She decided it was time for a quick pause.

Springtime... How the black wolf hated this time of the year - everyone were jolly and life just sprung up everywhere after the cold winter season. Frankly, he didn't like spring because everyone was happy. And he wanted others in pain... He smirked, why did I become this way? he thought for himself in an amused tone. He didn't really care. Actually, he couldn't care less about what others thought about him, there was simply no way he would change his way.

On the other hand this season meant there were a lot of prey in the woods and it was that thought that made Rude head into the old forest. He knew that the young animals were easy to catch, and despite he wasn't such a bad hunter, he thought it was better to take the easy prey. He wandered through the forest, a forest he'd never been to before actually, and he felt his hunger grow. For a moment he thought he could even eat another wolf if he had to, but he knew he never would. Just the thought of it disgusted him.

As he was walking there, thinking about other possible meals that he could find in the forest he heard something running towards him. He braced himself, hoping for it to be a deer or something of the like. But soon he realized it was another wolf and he couldn't decide whether or not to check it out or walk away. Suddenly the other wolf stopped, not to far away, but Rude still couldn't see it.

"Who goes there!?"
he growled, in a dark yet loud voice, to be sure that the stranger would hear him.

She had barely drunk a bit of the stream when she heard a cold, frightening voice call out to her. Not that it scared her; she had seen and heard much more terrifying things. This is only one of those temporary things, it comes and goes. Like everything does.

Great. Really, great. Why can't others just leave me alone?! her thoughts screamed in her head. It was making her insane and so.. argh! Irritated, she turned her head, her gaze swiftly noticing his enormous body and eyes. He was a really, really huge black wolf. Aethne's scowl didn't compeletely disappear, but also made place for a tiny drop of curiosity. Never before had she seen such strange, intriguing eyes. Very special colours. She had seen more wolves with different ones, but nothing like these.. They held a lot of rage, but still were very fascinating to her. And that large scar.. It ran over the right part of his face. She wondered when and how he got that. It had been a long time since she was interested in something, other than prey and water...

Nonetheless, that didn't change a bit about the fact that at the moment, he annoyed the hell out of her.

"None of your business!" she fumingly snarled back while lowering her head to the water again. Who does he think he is? Aethne seethingly thought, her temper wakening from its long sleep. But maybe, a little echo deep inside her said, this could be fun.

Rude frowned, slightly amused, in surprise. He still kept his 'big bad wolf' stance while looking at the red wolfess in front of him. No one had yet talked back to him, besides his siblings, so this was a strange situation for him, but he kind of liked it. It was a rush for him, forcing his wicked mind to think things through. But he disliked thinking things through unless it was of importance, because thinking too much made the pain inside his head worse... "In fact, Wolf, it is of my business" he said, with a snarl "You just trespassed my territory..". Now, Rude had no territory of his own, he had no real home either. He was a travelling force of evil, a one man army. But Rude knew that this red haired female could not possibly know this, that these areas were not his territory. He did though feel like wherever he went was his territory, so having a stranger there was annoying him a lot...

"Who are you, Woman?" he asked sharply, not really interested in the answer, but he always liked to know the names of those he met. He usually did not tell his real name, mostly because they would not believe his name (nowadays) was Rude, and his birthname was dangerous for him to use, well, he did not mind trouble, but some things he would not survive - like a whole pack of wolves seeking revenge... Therefore he either made up a name, if the other wolf asked for it, or just ignored the question completely.

She growled harshly. Didn't he know when to stop? Aethne gritted her teeth in annoyance. Her long black claws itching to be used. "Well" she stated coldly with a little smile "Why would I care?" She really didn't care, he could try to kill her if he wanted to. Aethne simply didn't bother anymore. She tried to calm her inner fire by looking at her angry reflection in the streaming water. Water.. One thing she did like was its freshness and these little ripples in it. Then she swiftly turned around in a jump, facing the black wolf. She ridiculed herself; never turn your back to an opponent, her father had always said. What happened to that? Correcting the mistake, she locked her seething green eyes on his. Probably a bad move, seeing that many animals feel threatened when you do. Again, she just didn't care..

Aethne listened to what he was saying and saw how he held himself. He seemed a wolf with a lot of confidence; perhaps arrogant was a better description. When he finished his sentence she seriously considered attacking him. How dare he. She wrathfully growled. "Then why don't you tell me your own name first" Aethne flexed her claws and slashed them deep in the earth. "Are you really haughty enough to think I would say mine?" She snarled infuriated. She wondered if she had gone past an invisible line. She actually hoped she did.
